      I was mashing in a 5 gal car boy and every time I would pitch my yeast within a couple hours it would be bubbling like crazy in my airlock and I would always get a good yealds out of it . I’ve since move on to using a 30gal foodgrade plastic barrel with a clamp lid I’ve kept my recipe the same just multiplied it and now when I pitch the yeast it never really works off as well in the air lock and I’m not getting near the yeald. Can you give me any advice ?

      What is the starting gravity of the mash?
      What temperature are you fermenting at?
      What yeast are you using?
      How much yeast are you using?

      I’m not sure I only recently got a beer and wine hydrometer. Between 80 and 85. Distillers yeast. Half a cup. Was using 25lbs of sugar

      Happy to say I figured out the problem! Not enough sugar!

      35lbs when I was doing 5gal containers I’d use 10lbs for every 5gal of mash and it worked out great . Idk how I managed to do it but some how I got off on my math and figured it at 5lbs per 5gal instead of 10lbs per 5gal.
