I am making a homemade still using a 5 gallon bucket for my coil. How long and how thick should the coil be? I have heard anywhere from 10 to 20 feet, I am just trying to keep it simple and spend as little money as possible here. If I go to Menards how much should this cost ? I went on there website and it looks like they only sell it in lengths on 60ft and that was $52.99. Thanks for any info before I go to the store.

No thermometer it wont help. For a coil 10ft is fine but it looks long when you buy it but once you coil it you will see how short it is.

What you need is 1 foot of copper cut in half into 2 6″ pieces and run a water pump with 2 hoses. Water pump is like $4.

Ex shiner, pro cop troller, I can teach you how it is done if you don’t understand.
