I have to make a repair to an old copper pot still. I was wondering how big a deal it would be to use 95-5 solder. Is lead solder that big a deal if used in the still construction? Also, how about a brass filling (union) between the arm and the worm? Just wondering how much of a health concern this could be in alcohol production. Any comments would be appreciated.

Rick- lead Solder is a big deal. If you don’t know the origin of the still ( aka you are not sure if lead solder was used) I would not use it for production.
