Ok, Ok, Ok……..
So I just ran a batch of feints and the cuts did not appear to be as clear cut (no pun intended) as a first run mash.
I pulled the first 100ml for the foreshots and then everything else was running high proof as expected. First drops were in the 170/175 degrees mark at about 180 proof. I killed the heat when the head reached 197 degrees and I was at 120 proof. So, between 180-120 this was several hours and any cuts that I would’ve made with a first run was not clear for me. The end product was fine but the cuts is where my issue is…..
Anyone share their thoughts and experiences on cuts with runs #2 or more and what measurement(s) do you use?
