Thumper tubing

My 1 gallon still has exit tubing 1/2″ diameter. Thinking about adding a 1/2 gallon thumper. Does the input and output tubing have to be the same size? Thinking about leaving the 1/2″ as input but using output of 1/4″.

Did you build the 1 gallon yourself or buy it from somewhere? If you bought it (and this is just a guess) i’d stick with 1/2″ because anything less than that may cause more head pressure than your still is designed for.

I got the claw hammer kit. Trying to use what I had around instead of buying tubing. Thanks

Good question. Their kits aren’t designed for thumpers, so you should definitely be careful to avoid increasing head pressure if modifications are made. I’d stick with 1/2″ output on the thumper, not 1/4″. Just my opinion though.
