making 5 gallons of peach shine. I’m just starting and I don’t have a hydrometer yet but I put my yeast in when the water was still hot and think it may have killed it. can I add more? what would having too much yeast cause? thank you in advance.

How hot was the mash when you added it?
What kind of yeast did you add?
How much yeast did you add?
How long ago did you add the yeast?

      What was your recipe?

120 is pretty warm- you might have killed the yeast.
You can either let it sit another 12 hours or so and if you don’t see any activity in the airlock (are you using an airlock?) add more yeast- or you can add more yeast now-
what temp is the mash at now?

no I’m using a balloon. I’ve made mash before using a balloon and is no where near as inflated this time.
