BjacobMerkelParticipant5 gall..x3 for a 15 gall run…
BjacobMerkelParticipant5 lbs corn 3 lbs 2 row barley.5 pound sugar. One packet bread yeast
BjacobMerkelParticipantThe simple blue moonshine recipe that you gave me on another form. All I did was add some sugar. I did not strain all the corn out with a put in barrel. Maybe a few that was the cause..
BjacobMerkelParticipantI have a temp point in the middle of my pot. Just added a tumper on so could run once and done.. I got a laser thermometer. But not thinking straight it reflects off stainless. It’s a big set up. 15 to 20 gall. Just wanted to run a jar or so in remembering my grandfather. I had a few leaks but sealed up with flower and water.. the first drip out of work was oily… Are tails.not good to drink….
BjacobMerkelParticipantNot the best taste.. wasn’t exspecting amazing quality. It takes time but worried about the viscosity.. I also have a thumper on my set up. I braught the temp up slow but the steam wasn’t heating up the thumper and pushing out.had to run at 185 190. To get the steam pressure I needed to hear up thumper and come out..
BjacobMerkelParticipantThanks for the info. I only ran a sugar wash threw my pot a few times. Now I’m interested in flavor. I want to try a few grain runs before I tachle the fruits. Just didn’t want to go through the hassle of trying to find acid blends and gypsum. But thank you very much for the tip
BjacobMerkelParticipantIt just calls for corn and sugar. Vary basic. I also saw some that add rye and other Ingredients.
Is there any way you would be willing to give me a recipe from start to finish.

I found another recipe that just calls for corn and sugar. For my first corn whisky. What do you think I should doBjacobMerkelParticipantI did use any yet wanted to find out what to use and how much. Do I need to sprout the corn before I grind it into my wash or can I use it right out the bag
BjacobMerkelParticipantRichard thank you very much means alot for your help.
BjacobMerkelParticipantThank you very much beverage… I baught a 5 pound bag of yeast and my first batch I put way to much.. I also read something about making a starter kit and getting the yeast ready.. I very new at this so it is a basic recipe r I am fallowibg.
Crushed corn some sugar and water..
I baught my grandfather’s houses and barn and in the hay I found and old still that I haven’t seen since I was a kid. I fixed it up and it ready to run but I can’t get the mash or anything right..
if you wouldn’t mind or anyone can you give me pointers or even a blue moon recipe from start to finish. I read many books but everyone does it differently. What works for you
